Import data to Agenda component

How to save data for import

Data should be saved as a .csv file. The following software allows for saving files in this format: Excel, Numbers and Google Docs. Before exporting make sure that your file will be saved in Unicode UTF 8. If your file is saved in another coding scheme, an error will occur while importing it to the panel. To fix this, convert your file with a free online tool.

Import data to Agenda component

Prepare the .csv file for importing the agenda with the following column names: uuid, title, description, day, start_date, end_date, place, path, tags. All the columns must be in order as above, to import the data successfully. A spelling error in the name of the columns or omitting any of them, results in the incorrect import of data.

How to enter data into the file

uuid - It’s the identifier for the session. We recommend populating it with any number from 1 to infinity - this identifier should be unique for each agenda session.

In the  “day” column you have to provide the date when the session takes place. The date must be in a format as follows YYYY-MM-DD. Remember to put a dash “-” between the year, month and day.

start_date and end_date  - in these columns enter the time that the session starts and finishes, following the YYYY-MM-DD 00:00:00 format. Hours should be based on a 24-hour clock.

TIP: If the session exceeds midnight, enter in the “day” column the date to which the session should be assigned, whereas in the start_date and end_date columns you should add the real dates and time of start and end of the session. The start date/ end date and time should be separated by a space, as in the above example.

The music festival takes place at night on the 22nd of September 2020 but the concert lasts until the morning the next day September 23, 2020. For example: from 23:00 22.09.2020 to 02:00 23.09.2020 and the next concert is from 2:00 to 3:30 at night. To extend the day 22 of September 2020 in the Agenda Component, in the "day" column in both cases you should enter the date 2020-09-22, (in this format). While the "start_date" and "end_date" columns should contain the actual start and end dates of the session. Respectively in the first case: start_date 2020-09-22 23:00:00 and end_date 2020-09-23 02:00:00, in the second case: start_date 2020-09-23 02:00:00 and end_date 2020-09-23 03:30:00.

place is the column for space/ room where the session occurs, e.g Great Hall, Room Madrid, Main Stage. It creates a “Place Tag”, which can be edited in the panel.

path is responsible for adding a "Path Tag" to the agenda. The path tag defines the type of session, e.g. workshop, training, coffee break.

tags this column is responsible for adding the specified groups of users to the session in the agenda component. In case of leaving empty cells,"All users" tag will be added automatically and the session will be visible for all users. In order to make the session visible for the selected group, you have to write in this column the names of "user tag" assigned to this group of users, e.g. Logged In Users, VIP, Group A, Speaker.

Adding language layers

Translating sessions in the Agenda component is possible only if language layers have been added to the administrative panel in the Basic Info section.

To import the next language layer to the Agenda component, you need to prepare a new .csv file with translated data in the title and description columns. The rest of the columns should remain unchanged. The sessions in both files should have the same order and UUIDs numbers.

Importing the language layers is only possible when the main data were also imported.
