Keep participants informed about key things related to the event

## News Module - event news

The News Module is your virtual notice board. It lets you quickly pass on the most important information to participants before, during, and after the event. Posts are visible synchronously in the **mobile app** and on the event page (**Landing Page**).

> **Success:** News is published in the order it’s added in the admin panel. After adding news, there’s no way to change the order in which it’s displayed in the mobile app and on the event page.

## Organizer’s perspective

As an administrator, you have full control over what you publish, when you publish it, and in which thematic channels. This is the main place where participants will get up-to-date operational and marketing information.

### How to add a post in the News Module?

1. Log in to the admin panel and go to **Create → Content → News.**

2. Click the **(+) Add news** button.

3. Fill in the required fields:

    - **Name (Channel):** Specify the topic channel (e.g. _Main channel_, _Logistics_, _Contests_). This will make it easier for participants to filter the content they’re interested in.

    - **Title:** A concise post title (e.g. _Ticket sales have started!_).

    - **Content:** The actual message for participants. The news content can be edited later.

    - **Image (Optional):** Upload a graphic that visually complements the post and grabs attention.

4. If you want to immediately add another post to the same channel, click **(+) Add new message** at the bottom of the form (you don't have to go back to the main menu).

5. Click **Save changes**, to publish the content.

### Technical requirements for image files

To make sure your News looks professional on every device, stick to these guidelines for the photos you add:

- **Aspect ratio:** 16:9

- **Resolution:** 72 ppi

- **Maximum file size:** 10 MB

### Landing page configurator

If for some reason you want News to be visible _only_ in the mobile app, you can hide this module on the website:

1. Go to the **Landing Page Editor** (bottom right corner of the panel).

2. Find the **News** module.

3. Turn it off using the **It is enabled** switch.

> **Success:** Managing visibility for logged-in users, just like in other modules, is done using user\_grups. Learn more from THIS ARTICLE.

**The Landing page configurator lets you manage:**

- the color of the whole section

- changing the header

- the colors of individual news elements

- setting a URL that directs straight to a selected news item – especially useful when sending ads from social media to the page 🙌🏽

## Participant’s perspective

For the participant, the News module is the official source of truth about the event, available in their pocket (app) and in the browser (Landing Page).

### How does the participant use News?

- **Everything in one place:** The participant sees posts in a clear timeline, from newest to oldest.

- **Filtering by channels:** If the Organizer has created different channels (e.g. _Main Stage_, _Afterparty_, _Getting there_), the participant can filter the timeline to read only what they care about at a given moment.

- **Clear cards:** Entries are shown as neat cards with a photo (if one was added), which makes it easy to quickly scan the most important announcements.

## Use cases for the News module in your event

- **Monetization and Sponsors:** Use News to publish sponsored articles. Inform participants about your key event partners by adding their logos in the graphic and redirecting attendees to their profiles in the _Exhibitors / Business Hub_ module or to their external websites.

- **Gamification and Contests:** Announce the rules of your scavenger hunts here (e.g. for the _Scan & Collect_ module) or quick contests with prizes to be picked up at a specific booth.

- **Crisis management:** Room change? Session delayed? A short, to-the-point post in the _Important announcements_ channel will quickly inform everyone who needs to know.

- **Unique links:** Every news item on the Landing Page generates its own unique URL. You can copy it and drop it into a post on LinkedIn or Facebook, driving traffic straight to your event page!

**Have a great event with Meeting Application!**
