# Editing the navigation bar on the event Landing Page

Customize the Navbar to your needs

The navigation bar is the menu at the top of the event page. From this article you’ll learn how to:

- change the order of items on the bar,

- change tab names,

- highlight selected items,

- add new items: **subpage**, **external redirect**, **iFrame** and the **Download the app** module.

> **Info:** **Pro tip:** The navigation bar doesn’t have to exactly reflect the layout or the number of modules on the page – you can pick only the sections that are most important for participants. This way the navbar becomes a practical shortcut that makes it easier to quickly jump to the key parts of the page.

## Navbar editor

1. **Log in** to the Landing Page with an account that has **Administrator** permissions.

2. Click the **wrench** icon in the bottom right corner of the page.

3. In the editing panel, in the **Core Elements** section, click **ITEMS LAYOUT**.

4. The **Navigation bar settings** window will open.

## Changing the order of tabs

After entering the editor you can see all the modules that were previously added in the admin panel and are handled on the Landing Page (the globe icon with www).

To change the order of tabs on the navigation bar, stay in the items tab and then:

1. Grab the **hamburger (≡)** icon next to the selected item.

2. Drag the item **up / down**, to set the display order.

## Renaming a tab (Translation library)

1. Select the item whose name you want to change and click **Edit**.

2. In the **Custom title** section, click the plus “+” icon to open the **Translation library**.

3. In the “Custom translations” window, create a pair of a technical name with the component name that will be displayed on your event page:

    - **New Translation Key** – the technical name of the key, e.g. `agenda_main` or `event_info`

    - **value** – enter the text that will be visible to people visiting the Landing Page.

        ![](https://staticfiles.gleap.io/ghelparticle/NhmOi1HskAAMPHKo6SK1wZVfEqxj0JhYGpBd0EkyaWWZwVe06zNjYWJI3iDNmS1DaW2TLCRew5K.png)

4. Add it to the Translation library by clicking **Apply changes**, go back to editing the element and **from the list select** from the drop-down list the key you just created in the **Custom title** field.

> **Success:** Remember to add the right translations for each language layer for multilingual events.

## Highlighting an item on the bar

1. In the item editing, turn on the **Highlighted** switch.

2. The selected item on the navigation bar will be **highlighted with the main event color**.

> **Info:** Remember that **you can highlight more than one item** on the navbar

## Adding new items to the navigation bar

By default, the list shows only components enabled in the event admin panel (also supported in the mobile app), but you can add additional items visible on the page:

Click ➕ in the top right corner of the **Navigation bar items** section (➕)

### Subpage - a new page on your LP

1. **Module definition key** → choose **Subpage**.

2. Fill in the **URL path** (e.g. `o-nas`) → this element will be added at the end of the link to your LP

3. Set a **Custom title** through the Translation library.

4. **Confirm**.

> **Info:** Creating a subpage and moving selected modules to it is a perfect way to shorten the main landing page and reduce the number of elements in the navbar. It also lets you group content and keep things thematically organized.

### External redirect - link leading outside the Landing Page

1. **Module definition key** → select **External redirect**.

2. Enter the **redirect URL** – it **has to start with** `https://` (e.g. `https://partner.com`).

3. Choose the **Redirect target**: _New tab_ or _Same tab_.

4. Set a **Custom title** (Translation library).

5. **Confirm**.

### iFrame - embedding any HTML content

> **Info:** To add this element to the navigation bar, you first need to add the free iFrame module and fill it with content.

Add the iFrame module following the instructions from [THIS ARTICLE](https://help.meetingapplication.com/pl/articles/9497446-dodawanie-modulu-iframe.md), and then in the navigation bar editing window choose:

1. **Module definition key** → choose **iFrame**.

2. Set a **Custom title** and **Confirm**.

### Mobile App module

> **Info:** To add this element to the navigation bar, you first need to add the free Download the app module.

This is a free component that lets you place a section with a QR code leading to your event in the mobile app – you can learn more from [THIS ARTICLE](https://help.meetingapplication.com/pl/articles/9497451-pobierz-aplikacje.md).

To add a redirect to the App section on your event page, in the Navbar editor:

1. Module definition key → **Application**

2. Module → **Application**

3. Choose a name from the Translation library

4. **Confirm**

> **Warning:** Remember that after you finish configuring the navigation bar, save by clicking **Apply changes,** and then the **floppy disk icon** in the bottom right corner of the Landing Page configurator! Otherwise everything you managed to create won’t be saved.

1. **Apply changes**

## The “Log in” and “Get ticket” buttons – change the text to your own

To change the names of the system buttons, go to the navigation bar configurator and then open the “others” tab. In the translation library, add the texts that will replace the system names of the function buttons.

## Final result of editing the Navbar

You can edit the navigation bar at any time, so if you’re not happy with the final result or the concept of this element changes later on while working on the event – no worries! You can make changes whenever you want.
