How to save data for import
Data should be saved as a .csv file. The following software allows for saving files in this format: Excel, Numbers and Google Docs. Before exporting make sure that your file will be saved in Unicode UTF 8. If your file is saved in another coding scheme, an error will occur while importing it to the panel. To fix this, convert your file with a free online tool.
Import data to Partner component
Prepare the .csv file for importing the partners with the following columns: category_uuid, category_name, stars, partner_uuid, name, scope, description, website, email, phone, facebook, linkedin, twitter, youtube, instagram, logo_url. All the columns must be in order as above, to import the data successfully, even if not all of them are filled with content. A spelling error in the name of the columns or omitting one of them, results in incorrect data import, or the lack of it. Data input in the uuid and name columns are required.
category_uuid – this identifier is responsible for categories and should be the same for the Partner profiles assigned to one, common category. We recommend adding an identity number for each category, by assigning a number from 1 to infinity.
stars – determines the size of the displayed logotype. Fill out this column with values from 1 to 3. Choosing “3” means the largest logo size, when choosing “2” and “1” you will receive respectively smaller sizes.. A particular category should always have the same value.. The same value should be entered for all partner profiles in the same category.
partner_uuid – it’s an identity number for partner profiles. Each partner from the list should have one unique number assigned. We recommend completing it with the following numbers from 1 to infinity.
Complete the “email” and “phone” columns to add contact details to the exhibitor profile. If you do not want to enter data, leave the calls blank in those columns.
The email address can not contain special characters and the phone number must be typed in without spaces. If you want to add an area code, write it in one sequence with the phone number omitting the “+” sign, e.g. 17778889999, 48777888999.
Social media links (facebook, linkedin, twitter, youtube, instagram) must contain the “https://” protocol. Omitting this will result in a redirecting failure. Link example: https://www.linkedin.com/in/profile-name
How to group partners with the same category name but different rank.
To highlight any specific partners within a category, create two categories with the same name and assign them a different “category_uuid”. Then assign to these categories different values in the “stars” column. There will be two separate categories with the same name but different sizes of logotypes.
Adding Language Layers
Translating partner profiles in the Partner Component is only possible when language layers have been added to the administrative panel in the Basic Info section.
To import the next language layer to the Partner Component, you need to prepare a new .csv file with translated data in the following columns: category_name, name, scope and description. The rest of the columns should remain unchanged. Uuid numbers are assigned to the category (category_uuid) and partner profiles (partner_uuid) and they should remain the same across all imported files/layers.
Importing the language layers requires that the main data was entered by importing it.
